Hinweise
- Although only 5% of UV radiation reaches the earth's surface, more than half of this radiation is infrared (heat), almost 40% is visible light, and about 5% is invisible UV radiation.
- UV radiation that reaches the earth's surface is divided into two categories: UVA and UVB.
- UV rays are ionizing, which means they affect molecules and as a result skin damage and skin cancer can occur.
- To best protect your skin from UVA as well as UVB rays and keep it young, you should use SUN daily all year round and especially before sun exposure.
- The use of our sunscreen SUN is suitable for all skin types and from the age of 3 years.
- SUN is like all other products of DOCTOR MI! medical skincare only suitable for external use. Avoid contact with eyes and keep away from children!
- For adequate UV protection, use at least a tablespoon-sized amount of SUN for the entire face.

Häufige Fragen
For whom is SUN recommended?
No matter what gender or skin type – thanks to the optimally coordinated ingredients, SUN is suitable for everyone from the age of 3.
What does SPF 50+ mean and how does it work?
The sun protection factor, or SPF for short, indicates the amount of time you can expose yourself to the sun or UVB rays without worry. Every person reacts differently to sunlight and every skin type has a different self-protection time. So if you get a sunburn after 10 minutes, you multiply this value with the sun protection factor of SUN. In our example it would be SPF 50 x 10 (minutes) = 500 minutes you can spend protected in the sun. With our SPF 50+ SUN offers you a very high level of protection against UVB rays.
What are UVA and UVB rays?
UVA and UVB rays are ultraviolet rays – in short UV rays – which have reached the earth's surface through the ozone layer. Between 90 and 95% of them are UVA rays, which can penetrate not only window glass, but also the dermis of the skin. In doing so, they destroy the upper fibroblasts, which are important proteins for skin stability and the build-up of elastin and collagen. Approximately 10% of UVB radiation reaches the surface and even plays a relevant role in vitamin D and melanin formation. Unlike UVA rays, UVB rays can be blocked by window glass and penetrate only as far as the epidermis.
What are the consequences of UVA and UVB rays?
UVA rays damage collagen in the skin and promote skin aging, wrinkles, and loss of skin elasticity in the long term. In addition, UVA rays are often the cause of age spots, pigmentation disorders, sun allergy and skin cancer. UVB rays cause the skin to tan, but are also responsible for sunburn, skin disorders, eye damage such as cataracts, malpigmentation and hyperpigmentation, and skin cancer.
How can I protect myself from UV rays?
For optimal protection against UV rays, there is a 5-S-rule, which is composed of these five terms: sunscreen, shade, safety clothing, sun hat and sunglasses. Using SUN correctly, you will benefit from an SPF 50+, which will provide you with excellent protection against UV rays. In addition, you should prefer shade to the sun – but be careful, even here you can get sunburn. With the right clothing you can also ward off UV rays. Here applies: The darker and denser the textiles are woven, the higher the protection. With a sun hat and sunglasses labeled UV 400, your scalp, eyes, ears and neck are also protected.
What is the difference between mineral or physical and chemical UV filters?
Mineral and physical filters are inorganic filters that absorb micro- and nanoparticles and therefore spread as well as reflect UV radiation. Chemical UV filters, on the other hand, are organic and absorb UV radiation. In turn, they emit this radiation as lower-energy, longer-wave thermal radiation, which enables them to provide higher UVA protection.
How often should I apply SUN?
For optimal protection against damaging UVA and UVB rays, you should apply SUN generously and consistently to your skin before exposure to the sun. Even though you have a very high level of protection from the sun's rays with our SPF 50+, we recommend that you repeat the application several times a day approximately every two or three hours.
Can I use SUN regardless of my skin type?
Yes, SUN is basically suitable for all skin types: From normal to sensitive to mature skin, as well as skin with pigmentation disorders and impurities.
Why is SUN so skin-friendly?
Since the sunscreen does not contain octocrylene, parabens, silicones or nanoparticles and is also non-comedogenic and has no hormonal effects, SUN is extremely skin-friendly. SUN has been dermatologically tested.
How do I properly include SUN in my skin care routine?
SUN is a highly effective, moisturizing sunscreen that you can combine with all Doctor Mi! Care products without any problems. It is important that you adapt your care routine to the needs of your skin. In our skincare routines section you will find the application that suits you and your skin.
Can I also use SUN with Rethinol DAY day cream?
Generally, you can combine all Doctor Mi! skin care products. The TECMi!®-Retinol contained in DAY has the ability to absorb immediately into the depths of the skin, but it makes the skin sensitive to UVA and UVB rays. The best way to apply SUN is daily after the anti-aging day cream DAY, because the sun protection factor 50+ provides ideal care and protection for your skin.
How quickly SUN is absorbed into the skin?
SUN is absorbed quickly after application and is not greasy, whitening or sticky.
Where is SUN produced?
Like all Doctor Mi! medical skincare products, SUN is completely produced in Germany.
