THE MORNING ROUTINE

BE WELL PREPARED FOR THE DAY - WITH THE Doctor Mi! ROSACEA MORNING ROUTINE

Rosacea does not make it easy for those affected: There are a number of factors that trigger relapses and affect a person's wellbeing. To ensure that the risk of a rosacea outbreak on your skin is as low as possible in the morning, you can follow the Doctor Mi! rosacea morning routine: It not only offers you practical instructions for specific application tips of the intended products but also gives you more advice and recommendations on how you can give your skin a perfect start to the day.

WHY THE RIGHT MORNING ROUTINE IS ESSENTIAL FOR ROSACEA

Rosacea skin is very sensitive. It is all the more important to ensure in the morning that you expose it to as little stress as possible and protect it as best as possible. Before starting the actual morning skin care routine, it is advisable to consider the following tips.

Make sure you get enough sleep and rest.

Stress can be a major contributor to a rosacea flare-up. Allowing your body to get enough sleep and relaxation is not only important for you to have enough energy for the day but also for your skin to not unnecessarily get damaged.

Take enough time in the morning.

By taking enough time to care for your skin in the morning, you will not have the problem of time pressure and stressing your skin in the morning at the start of the day.

Always use lukewarm water and avoid rapid temperature changes.

Abrupt changes in temperature are also known to trigger rosacea in some people. By making sure not to use hot or cold water when washing your face and hands as well as when showering, you do not risk temperature-related redness and swelling.

Only use skin care products that are pH neutral.

What applies to your facial care also applies to your body care: By using only pH neutral skin care products, you avoid the risk of exposing your skin to unnecessary irritation. Human skin has a pH of 5.5. Ordinary soap, on the other hand, has a pH value of almost 7 to 9, which in direct comparison is too high, irritates the skin and removes moisture from it. This is particularly bad for very dry skin areas. In order to protect sensitive skin as best as possible, a pH neutral shower gel is also ideal in the shower.

Tip: All products by Doctor Mi! medical skincare are pH neutral and very tolerable, even for sensitive skin and skin suffering from rosacea.

Do not use any oils or artificial fragrances in your care.

Both oils and artificial fragrances are known to harm extremely sensitive and inflamed rosacea skin. In addition to these ingredients, you should also avoid ingredients that promote blood circulation such as eucalyptus, rosemary or menthol, as these cause unnecessary irritation.

Use massage techniques to reduce swelling.

While there is no cure-all for rosacea, certain rosacea massage techniques can help reduce swelling on the face. By using these in the morning, you are actively helping your skin to regenerate.

DIRECTIONS: THE Doctor Mi! ROSACEA MORNING ROUTINE

You can optimally take care of your rosacea skin in just four simple steps every morning and prepare it as best as possible for the day ahead. Simply use the products of the Doctor Mi! ROSACEA SET.

CLEAN

Spread a small amount of the gentle but thorough cleansing gel CLEAN all over your face in the morning. Massage it into your skin with wet hands and circular movements for 2-3 minutes. This is how you remove secreted toxins, sweat and sebum that have accumulated on your skin over the night. Then wash your face with warm water and pat it dry with a clean towel.

PEEL

After your cleansing, distribute a small amount of PEEL on your dry, cleansed skin. Massage in PEEL with damp fingertips for 2-3 minutes. This way, you make sure that you also reliably remove excess skin flakes which flake off especially from stage I rosacea. Then rinse your skin thoroughly with warm water. By the way, there is no need to worry: PEEL is extremely gentle, making it suitable for daily use even on skin suffering from rosacea.

TONE

Then you spray TONE, the mild facial toner by Doctor Mi! medical skincare, 2–3 times on a clean cotton pad. Apply it gently to your face as well as your neck and décolltage. Avoid contact with your mouth and nose, also avoid the eye area. Thanks to a high proportion of AHA fruit acids, it thoroughly removes the last flakes of skin from your skin surface and helps your skin to optimally store its moisture.

DAY

DAY is a very gentle, yet very effective day care that helps your skin to renew itself during the day and to retain the skin's own moisture. Distribute a small amount evenly on your face, neck and décolltage. Massage it in until DAY is completely absorbed.

Important: After applying Doctor Mi! care, use sun protection factor 50+ every day and all year round, regardless of the weather! This is how you protect your skin from harmful UV radiation, which can cause your skin to have flare-ups.

By the way: if you use make-up that claims to offer sun protection, you should still use sun protection factor 50+ beforehand, as the sunscreen contained in make-up is usually far too low to reliably protect your skin from the damage caused by UV radiation.

FURTHER RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUR ROSACEA MORNING ROUTINE

As soon as you have completed your facial care routine, your skin will be optimally nourished to cope with the challenges of the day. To make it even easier for your skin, you will find a few more tips below that will get you and your skin through the day in the best possible way.

Drink enough water in the morning.

You should consume 1.5 to 2 liters of water throughout the day, and more if you are an active person. In order for you to accomplish this, it is best to start right away in the morning. But note: Excessive water intake does not offer your skin any added value. So it's best to just make sure that your body is adequately hydrated.

Watch out for coffee and tea.

Skin with rosacea can be very sensitive to hot drinks. It is therefore very important that you do not drink hot coffee or tea but rather wait until your drink is lukewarm. In addition, green tea, for example, is not necessarily suitable for you: Although it is praised for its high proportion of antioxidants, it also contains a high proportion of histamines, to which your skin can react with a fresh surge of rosacea.

Avoid histamines.

Histamines (a special form of protein) are not only found in green tea, there are a number of different foods that are rather unsuitable for people with rosacea. This also includes, for example, dairy products, various types of fruit and vegetables, spices and meat. In order to not put your skin at risk in the morning, you should make sure to eat low-histamine food.

Avoid sugar too.

Sugar damages the skin by causing it to age prematurely. For that not to happen to you and for not risking rosacea spurts, it is best to reduce the amount of sugar (which incidentally also includes carbohydrates). Try to prepare breakfast that consists primarily of fats and proteins which are safe for your skin.

Tip: In addition to the right morning routine, the right evening routine for rosacea is a important factor!
