Although positive terms such as “wise” are also associated with age, humans generally have a hard time with it. Art, culture, and literature take up the topic again and again - just think of Oscar Wilde's eternally youthful Dorian Gray or Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep, who take it to the extreme in “Death Becomes Her”. Science is also working intensively on ways to stop aging. Anti-aging is the keyword - and indeed there are ways and means to stop or postpone signs of aging and look younger for longer. In the following you will find a summary of the most important factors for a successful anti-aging lifestyle.
A small consolation: the process of aging actually starts from the age of 20 - so the luxury of looking youthful does not last too long anyway. However, the first changes only become visible from the age of 30. That means: It is best to start cultivating a healthy anti-aging lifestyle as early as possible!
Our skin tissue gets its firmness and stability from the structural proteins collagen and elastin. The older we get, the less collagen the body produces; cell division takes place more slowly and the water and fat content decrease which results in the skin losing its firmness and becoming wrinkled. These processes are conditioned on the one hand by so-called intrinsic factors, i.e., those that come from within, such as genes or the hormonal balance. 1. The correct care

3. Lots of sleep

4. Eat well
Diet and appearance are closely related and influence one another. In order to live an active anti-aging lifestyle, a healthy and balanced diet helps. Basic foods, for example, are particularly effective in counteracting skin aging. They contain important antioxidants, which prevent the release of free radicals that can damage the cell structure of the skin, as well as trace elements and vitamins. Some examples for these foods are

But protein-rich foods such as fish and nuts also help the skin to look fresh and young for a long time.
Sugar, on the other hand, should better be avoided! Even if snacking can give you all the feels - the sweet temptation is rather counterproductive for your skin as an increased blood sugar level promotes micro-inflammation in the cells which damage collagen and elastin.
5. Protect yourself from the sun
The sun is good for you, there no denying that - we are in a better mood when the sun is shining, we produce the important vitamin D, and we are warm both on the inside and out. For the sake of your skin, though you should always apply sunscreen before you expose yourself to the sun's UV rays as these really affect the skin and damage it. Above all, the UVA rays destroy the firming collagen formation. With every sunburn that the skin has to endure, the risk of skin cancer increases. Therefore always - in all seasons - pay attention to sufficient and high sun protection!
6. Don't smoke
Fortunately, smoking is no longer en vogue today, as it was, for example, in the 1960s - for good reason as we now know that cigarettes actually only cause damage. They increase the risk of heart and lung diseases or infertility and also inflict massive damage to the skin. The neurotoxin nicotine contained in cigarettes (and also in e-cigarettes or other substitute products) removes oxygen from the blood and thus prevents the cells from being adequately supplied. The result: aging skin.
7. Keeping fit and moving
The long-running favorite for a healthy lifestyle that benefits the entire body: a good fitness level prevents aging in every respect. Those who keep their bodies fit can counteract many ailments in a positive way. It is no different with the skin. In addition to strengthening muscle tissue, regular exercise also strengthens it.
8. Think positive and smile
Highly effective against stress and against aging processes, which are negatively influenced by excessive exertion and too little recovery: Think positively.
